3. Landorus
This funny looking Legendary Pokemon from Generation 5 is known as the Abundance Pokemon. A dual Ground and Flying Type Pokemon, it is said that lands visited by Landorus grant such bountiful crops that it has been hailed as “The Guardian of the Fields". It appears as a little like a genie with a musculcar appearance and a long strangely textured tail, and it boasts one of the best dual Types in the game! Ground/Flying can hit almost half of all Pokémon for super effective damage. And no Pokémon takes advantage of this better than Landorus. With its high attacking stats and speed, Landorus will destroy your opponents. And even though it doesn’t have any truly useful Flying-type moves, it doesn’t need them because of the ability Sheer Force. Sheer Force makes attacks with a secondary effect hit harder, at the cost of the secondary effect not taking place. Combine this with a life orb and you have a Pokémon that can rip through teams with just Earth Power and Sludge Wave. Landorus is an absolute beast and will always be a threat that teams need to prepare for.
2. Zygarde
This almost best legendary ground type pokemon is Zygarde, which sounds a bit like a Doctor Who monster, and is not far off, in many respects. A snake like Legendary Pokemon from Generation 6 (seriously, no Pokemon could be more 'Slytherin' than Zygarde), it is a dual Dragon and Ground Type and is known as the Order Pokemon (it just managed to get even slightly more Slytherin in our eyes). Its great typing makes it extremely versatile in combat and it can easily wipe out all those who oppose it, showing not a shred of mercy.
As if it were not offensive enough on its own, Zygarde also has a Complete Form (pictured above) which has immense bulk, allowing it to become a formidable opponent at the highest levels of competitive battling. It also looks like a Transformer in this form, which is pretty darn cool.
1. Groudon
Ranked here as our best Legendary Ground Type Pokemon, it would undoubtably have to be Groudon that steals the top spot - said to be the personification of the land itself. A Ground type Pokémon introduced in Generation 3, it is known as the Continent Pokémon and is the main Legendary from Pokémon Ruby. Since it is supposed to have once brought the different landmasses of the world into existence during its battle against Kyogre over control of the forces of nature, it might only be natural that this Pokemon is one of the top five heaviest of all time. It appears as a reptilian, metal plated, lizard-dinosaur creature with huge silver spikes protruding from its body and definitely looks the part! It also carries a Primal form, which is one of the Heaviest Pokemon ever!
