Rosario + Vampire
A supernatural romantic comedy that explores the misadventures of Tsukune in Yokai Academy, a normal school that only has one rule “All humans found on campus to be executed immediately.” It’s because Yokai Academy is a boarding school where monsters go to learn to cleverly blend in amongst humankind. Tsukune Aono is an average teenager who is unable to get into any high school because of his bad grades. His parents inadvertently enroll him into Youkai Academy as a last-ditch effort to secure his education. As Tsukune unknowingly enters this new world, he has a run-in with the most attractive girl on campus, Moka Akashiya.
This series follows a human that is forced to go to a supernatural school. There a vampire discovers his secret humanity and they bond over it. From there, he gathers himself a harem of supernatural women by basically helping or saving them. They all end up guarding his secret. It is a little lewd, a lot of harem, but you can distinctly tell that the first girl is the concrete love interest.
Vampire Knight
High on drama, melancholy, and plot twists, plus full of brooding vampire guys, this vampire romance anime is a must watch show for vampire fans and lovers of the supernatural. This anime shows what happens when vampires try to coexist with humans, and there are so many rich, in depth characters to discover/swoon over. The cheerful Yuuki Cross and the gruff Zero Kiryuu are members of the disciplinary committee at Cross Academy, which houses two very distinct classes: the Day Class and the Night Class. Their job consists of upholding order between the classes when they switch out. While that may not seem like an especially difficult task, the Day Class is unaware of the truth behind the Night Class—their utterly gorgeous students are vampires.
Ten years ago, Yuuki was saved from a vampire attack by Kaname Kuran, a Pureblood vampire. Now, Kaname is the leader of the Night Class, and Yuuki's disciplinary committee position allows her to see him again, making her feelings for him grow complicated. Meanwhile, Zero bears a white-hot hatred of all vampires and believes they can never live in harmony with humans. But a secret from Zero's past soon threatens the fragile peace of all at the academy, and things may never be the same again.
Bakemonogatari
Bakemonogatari is a lot of things, and one of those things is a vampire romance. Not typically a romance anime, it still happily qualifies for this list due to its portrayal of a couple, to who there is more than meets the eye. It is an entertaining look inside a relationship based on female dominatrix Senjougahara Hitagi and male submissive Araragi Koyomi, a third-year high school student who is trying to live a normal life, despite having survived becoming a vampire and being cured by old-man Oshino Meme. They come together gradually throughout the anime, after one day Koyomi is able to catch Hitagi as she falls, and realizes she too has something supernatural afflicting her. After taking her to Oshino to cure her as well, Hitagi becomes Koyomi’s friend. Together they encounter other classmates with supernatural problems and they attempt to help them. All the while, Koyomi and Hitagi develop their relationship with each other; with Hitagi and her verbal abuse and dominatrix role over Koyomi in their sadist-masochist dynamic. Bakemonogatari is a fascinating anime series depicting a dominant submissive couple in anime.
Actually, I Am
An anime that is like Rosario + Vampire, it tells the story of vampires living amongst humans in plain sight, more specifically, a guy finds out a classmate is a vampire accidentally. He protects her secret and his harem of supernatural girls grows as he continues to discover them. Despite it being more of a harem vampire romance anime series, the main vampire girl seems the more concrete love interest.
Devils Line
In this creepy vampire romance anime, a vampiric half-human/half-devil working for a secret task force specialising in devil-related crime forms a bond with a college student under his protection. It presents more of a dominant submissive relationship, with the girl playing the submissive role and the vampire a self loathing, brooding sort, in constant turmoil. It would be so cool to see this premise as a yuri anime too! It contains all the elements we love to see in an amazing, spooky and thrilling vampire anime romance show.
Karin
This is perhaps one of the livelier vampire series. As a comedy romance, it may not be quite what you are looking for, but it turns the traditional vampire anime romance plot on its head. The most interesting twist is that Karin produces too much blood and is forced to give it away. So she is a vampire that gives rather than takes. It results in a bit of an ecchi series, so if you are looking for an ecchi vampire romance anime series, definitely give this a watch as it may be just up your spooky and deserted street!
Kurozuka
This vampire romance, as I understand it, is based on a novel. In it, a warriors flees to the mountains, meets a woman, and falls in love. It turns out that she is a vampire and has now made him unable to die. The setup promises a twisted romance through the ages, Kurou and Kuromitsu forever entwined in a love story painted in blood and guts.
Dance With Devils
In this vampire romance anime, Ritsuka Tachibana has the perfect school-to-life balance - until she discovers her handsome male classmates are demons in disguise. This reverse harem anime series features vampires and demons abound in a school, all secretly searching for a grimoire that will allow them to rule the world. A normal girl finds herself all tangled up in them. The plot is awesome, its funny and I love the cliffhangers at the end of every epiosde. The character traits and personalities are very intriguing and unique and the songs are so good and extremely fun. This is a vampire anime romance must watch!
Fortune Arterial
Fortune Arterial's story revolves around the male protagonist Kohei Hasekura, who transfers into a prestigious public school in the style of a Western six-year school encompassing junior-high and high school students. The school, named Shuchikan Academy, is on an island named Tamatsu Island, off-shore from mainland Japan, and the only way to get there is by boat. Soon after transferring, he discovers that one of the students from a class next door, Erika Sendo, is a vampire. Fortune Arterial has a pretty familiar plot as far as vampire romances go. Boy meets girl at school, girl turns out to be a vampire; but still makes for a great watch if you are a fan of traditional vampire romance anime!
Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase
An adorable and charming kind of vampire romance anime, about a photographer who takes pictures of ghosts for a living. Freelance photographer Kouhei Morioka is traveling to a castle in Germany to take photos of paranormal activity for his friend Hiromi Anzai, editor of an occult magazine. Upon entering the castle, he's confronted by a young girl in a white dress and cat ears who calls herself Hazuki. She takes a keen interest in Kouhei and offers him a kiss, but she instead reveals herself to be a vampire, sucks his blood, and turns him into her slave. It's equal parts gothic and adorable and is such a cool watch you need to try at least once!
Diabolik Lovers
This one starts out as a bit of a bummer, in its way. Essentially, a young girl is thrown to the wolves (in this case, a house of vampires) as a sacrificial bride. As such, they are quite mean to her. If you stick with the series, you do see the boys soften up and bond with her. It is a lovely reverse harem if you are into handsome vampire men.
Strike the Blood
In this anime woven with harem vibes, Akatsuki Kojou’s days as an ordinary high school student came to an end when it was discovered that he is the fourth primogenitor, giving him the remarkable abilities of a vampire with immeasurable power; according to the world his existence is only a legend. Fearing Kojou's destructive potential, the Lion King Organization sends in an apprentice attack mage named Yukina Himeragi, to monitor, and should he become a threat to the world, kill the boy deemed the most powerful vampire. Though Yukina’s job is to keep an eye on Akatsuki Kojou, they end up forming an unlikely couple and he always manages to get in to some kind of ecchi situation in the anime with Yukina!
Blood+
Chiroptera are immortal creatures that feed off blood and can change their form and disguise themselves as human beings. Red Shield has being fighting to exterminate them for years, but needs help. In modern-day Okinawa Japan, Saya Otonashi is a high-school girl living peacefully with her family even though she has no memory of her life except for the past year. It is her power and her destiny to stop the violent Chiroptera if she remembers how to fight only she can help the Red Shield.
Dance in the Vampire Bund
When the vampire queen appears in Japan to establish a colony for her blood-sucking brethren, Akira Kaburagi must keep his childhood vow and protect her from those who would dethrone her! As it follows a vampire noble woman looking to build a haven for vampires and her new werewolf bodyguard, it is easy to see that feelings may happen. Unfortunately, this series does strongly suffer from a lack of subsequent seasons. So for actualized romance, you may want to look to the manga. Despite that, it is also quite lovely to witness the sheer beautiful effort put forward into world building around vampire lore.
