Taruto is the protagonist and heroine of the story, believed to be the legendary Kinka princess. At the beginning of the series we see her move to a new house in a huge city with her human owner Iori Monaka and his teenage niece Kinako. Taruto spends her days making friends and exploring her new home town; in reality Taruto is a legendary princess with special magic powers. Almost none of Taruto's friends believe that she's capable of using magic or that she's a princess from a faraway kingdom, but Taruto is determined to prove it to them no matter what happens. Gintoki often noted that she is a rather old and unattractive woman, thus assuming that her ex-boyfriend merely got into a relationship with her because he lost a bet.

At first in this anime, Yoriko is a cat belonging to Misaki but, after being granted a wish by a magical sakura tree, she is able to possess Yoriko’s body, which transforms into a copy of her original body, but with cat ears. She is the cutest anime cat girl hybrid, with an adorable outfit and chocolate brown ears to match her hair. 24. Nuku Nuku From All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku
An old school anime cat girl, Nuku Nuku started out as just a stray cat that Ryunosuke happened to stumble upon while taking a leak, on the run with his father Kyusaku after stealing back his designed prototype android to keep it from being sold off to the military by Ryu’s mother Akiko.
The stray cat happened to be then shot and injured in heavy crossfire they end up in - but to save her, Kyusaku puts the dying cat’s brain into the android, giving the feline sapience and the android emotions! Nuku Nuku is born - with her crimson red hair and wily ways, she becomes centre stage in the anime!
23. Natsuki Sasahara from Hyper Police
Living with her mom, Natsuki is a cat girl bounty hunter with special powers. She uses electrical powers and when she gets mad, her tail splits into two.
She is the partner of Sakura and she is good with a blade skills. Natsuki is also the love interest of the were-wolf Batanen Fujioka who secretly hides those feelings.
Natsuki also owns two "pet parasites" named Raijin and Fuujin.
According to the manga, Natsuki's Mom is a goddess (possibly the Egyptian Cat Goddess). This would explain why she has both human and cat features at the same time, and keeps two parasites. The 17-year-old daughter of a human father and a nekomata mother, Natsuki is very sweet and kind to everyone and always eager to help protect the weak and help out where she can. In the anime we see her personality is very feline; she will eat cat food, grooms herself like a cat, play with string and other moving objects (including Sakura’s tails), and her favorite drink is catnip, which has a pseudo-alcoholic affect on her!
22. Rin Shaomei from Shining
While in her anime cat girl form, Lin Lin assumes a serious and more sedate character.
She is a female antique seller of the beast race in the game. She also has another identity, as the phantom thief “Black Tail”.
She appears in Shining Blade under the name Lin Lin and initially assumes a cat form.
21. Merle from The Vision of Escaflowne
Merle is mischievous and playful, an anime cat girl with short pink hair and blue eyes, and enjoys swiping Hitomi's things and playing other tricks. Unafraid to say whatever is on her mind, she can sometimes be seen to be outright mean, whether on purpose or without realizing it. She is very affectionate towards, and extremely protective of, Van, and at first is jealous of Hitomi's growing closeness with Van.
She hates seeing Van go through any kind of suffering or distress, and understands his feelings perhaps better than he does. She has black stripes on her face, tail, arms and legs, and a puff of white fur at the end of her tail.

20. Chaika from Chaika- The Coffin Princess
Chaika has had many mentions before, not least in Best Anime Girls with White Hair and Best Anime Shows with OP MC! This anime cat girl has long white hair that reaches down to her waist and large purple eyes. A mage who carries a giant coffin around with her, she excels in high-precision spells and is a 14 years old sorceress who runs into Toru Acura and picks him up as a travelling companion, along with his sister Akari Acura. Chaika is a compassionate and well-mannered girl, as well as being well intentioned - she is also very self conscious of her darker eyebrows but they are pretty iconic and distinctive we think! She has camouflage sleepwear that she made herself which she used during her travels before she met the Acura siblings.
She also carries a scar on her neck and on the back of her neck she has what looks like a magic symbol.
19. Persia from Gate
A catgirl from the Special Region beyond the Gate, Persia has playful and mischevious personality and in this way acts very similiar to a cat. She also is shown to have romantic feelings for Kurata Takeo. She is very loyal to her household, and can become extremely protective when her masters are threatened. She wears her long purple hair with indigo tips in a ponytail, a pair on tiny spectacles balanced on her nose and a maid's outfit and hat crowning her cat ears.
18. Melwin from Cat Planet Cuties
The Catian Starship First Officer. She is slimmer and smaller-chested than the other girls and has short blue hair.

17. Felicia from Darkstalkers
A Catwoman who was taken in and raised by a Sister named Rose, her name was derived from the word Felicity. She is an energetic and optimistic anime cat girl who enjoys singing, dancing and making friends with people. She just wishes for peace and to follow her dreams, despite the intense prejudice she receives from society, for her being a Darkstalker. Despite this, Felicia never lost hope, as she remembered what she was told before that one has to obtain happiness on their own. All she wishes for is peaceful coexistence with humans and doesn’t resort to fighting unless she cannot avoid it.
Because of this, she stands out among the other Darkstalkers, many of whom are antihero at best.

15. Shizuka Nekonome from Rosario+Vampire
Tsukune's homeroom teacher and Newspaper Club advisor, her true form is a cat and she loves to eat fish, her favourite fish are those from the human world. She has a tendency to say 'meow' in or after sentences. A recurring gag is that she lectures students about staying in human form, but unknowingly has her tail extended.
In her human disguise, her sandy blonde hair is shaped as cat ears, while wearing a white blouse, orange skirt, low heel sandals and her eyes seem to be closed. It seems she identifies that Tsukune is human but does not mind, believing that humans and monsters should get along with each other.
14. Nozomi Kiriya from Mayoi Neko Overrun!
A mysterious girl that Otome Tsuzuki picked up at the train station on the way home, Nozomi has light purple hair with cat ears and big red eyes. Nozomi transfers to Umenomori Gakuen with some intervention from Chise Umenomori and she ends up in the same class as Fumino Serizawa and Takumi Tsuzuki. She is a genius originally from Murasame Gakuen, a school/research center which gathers orphans who show great potential, and educate and develop their underlying potential, but because she was the best she would often be used by the teachers as an example which would cause the students grief. She is good in studies, sports and the piano, and when she was learning how to make a cake from Otome Tsuzuki, she did it perfectly on her first try, and was appointed the new pâtissier of Stray Cats.
13. Ichigo Momomiya from Tokyo Meow Project
Also known as Zoe in the English dub, Ichigo regularly undergoes an adorable magical girl transformation as a cat human hybrid, giving her black cat ears and tail as well as bubblegum pink hair and eyes and an adorable outfit to match! Her tail has a magenta ribbon tied around it with a bell. She wears a short carnation pink dress with matching arm garters and a leg garter on her right thigh, along with a choker around her neck. She is the main protagonist of the show and the first human animal hybrid magical girl we meet in the anime, encountering the other girls one by one throughout the show, as they all come together to form Mew Mew Power and defend the planet from evil, using their unique powers, strengths and super cool traits!
12. Kuune from Cat Planet Cuties
Kuune is the Starship Captain of the Catian girls. She has extremely long purple hair with matching purple eyes and cat ears. She is in charge of the contingent responsible for establishing diplomatic relations with Earth’s leaders.
Despite her incredile height and bust size, she only weighs 60 pounds total.
So far, Kuune’s bust size is the biggest among Cataian girls and the other character in the works. She wears a collar with a bell around her neck, adding to her feline like appearance.
11. Ibaraki Douji from Onigiri
Ibaraki is a half-Oni and earns her mention here, even if her 'cat ears' are actually horns, due to constantly being mistaken for a cat girl! She is a pretty badass and daring character and, as she is half-Oni, similar to that of the player’s character, she feels a certain connection with the main character.
She has the unique career of running a travelling bar, similar to Miroku’s travelling merchant status. This suits her well because she loves drinking alcohol, she loves being a liquor seller and is very willing to sell it to the player. With these potion-like items, the player can receive special stats that are not present in normal items, most of the time granting temporal stat raises such as movement speed or damage output. Ibaraki has honed her skills as a sommelier, allowing her to make all kinds of liquor and alcohol. From stat enhancing drinks to resurrecting alcohol, she can make all kinds of drinks as long as she is provided the recipe by the player.
10. Ao Nanami from Yozakura Quartet
Ao is a short anime cat girl with a thin build. She has short blue chin-length hair with two “antennas” resembling cat ear atop her head. She has light skin with blue eyes.
Ao often wears a black hat toque that shapes around her cat ears. When not wanting to stand out as a youkai she wears a black Alice band to conceal her hears.
She is usually seen in summer clothes, a dark sleeveless minidress with a white collar and blue buttons with dark coloured boots.
9. Eris from Cat Planet Cuties
Eris is a 16 years old scout for the Catian people exploring Earth. She is a cat girl who is tall and well endowed, with extremely long orange auburn hair and matching coloured cat ears, as well as crimson red eyes. While she is learning the ways of Earth, she is also a competent fighter who employs strategies and technologies not seen on Earth. She wears a bell like choker around her neck, which enhances her feline appearance further. She easily befriends many people, and regular cats she has met on Earth.
Initially many do not believe her to be an alien, but she shows Kio the proof directly with her technology, ears and tail.
8. Cyan Hijirikawa from Show by Rock
An adorable anime cat girl - even though her name is Cyan (like the light blue colour), her hair is a very dark, navy blue hue and she is a pale-skinned anime cat girl with big, shiny turquoise eyes. She loves music and strawberries and at first, she didn't know that her instrument Strawberry Heart is a legendary type of instrument. She appears wearing a maid like outfit, with short ringlet curls and a white frilly cloth reminiscent of a maid hat on the top of her head. She has a black cat tail and pair of ears and wears stripy socks or tights!
7. Koneko Toujou from High school DxD
A second-year high school student at Kuoh Academy and a member of the Occult Research Club, she is a Nekoshou, a rare species of Nekomata and Kuroka's younger sister, as well as Rias Gremory's first Rook. She is also one of Issei's fiancées and is also known as Shirone Toujou, but most commonly known as Koneko Toujou. She has a long white bob hairstyle with big gold eyes and has a cold personality and rarely shows her emotions, possibly stemming from her trauma endured when witnessing her sister seemingly losing control over her nekomata power and killing her master. In her Nekomata form, she grows a pair of white cat ears and a pair of matching white tails, and her eye pupils become more cat-like. In volume 24, she gained three tails.
6. Leone from Akame ga kill
A badass anime cat girl, Leone is one of the older members of the assassination group, Night Raid. She excels at gathering information and exercising calm judgment when necessary. Leone is curvaceous with short blonde hair with two long tufts that frame the sides of her head and golden eyes.
She wears a revealing outfit with a black tube top, detachable sleeves, pants, boots and a scarf around her neck. When she transformed, her hair becomes longer and she gains lion ears, tail and claws.
When her teigu, Lionel, fused with her, her hair becomes longer, and ears a bit bigger, she also sports out lionlike feet and many areas of her body are covered with fur, overall having a more beast-like appearance.
5. Blair from Soul Eater
A monster cat that has a human form? It could only be Blair. Blair is a monster cat, meaning that is her true form, and yet she often resorts to her human form, making her an incredibly multifaceted character. In cat form, she is a purple cat with large yellow eyes, ears with pale bushy tips and a long curly tail. She is also a very powerful monster cat leading many to even mistake her for a witch and she is said to have nine lives - those who wish to destroy her must succeed nine times. In human form, she takes on the appearance of a young, tall woman with violet hair and an alluring figure.
4. Kirara Bernstein from Gj-bu
A senior member of the GJ-Club, Kirara is a tall anime cat girl with blue eyes and short blonde hair that is shaped into cat ears. She is known to be possessive over her food, can speak to cats and has a huge fear of spiders (me). Like all the GJ-Bu characters she is usually seen in her school uniform, which is a black and blue jacket with gold linings and buttons, with a white collar shirt underneath and a blue skirt.
3. Himari Noihara from Omamori
A cat demon (a bakeneko) who swore an oath to protect the male protagonist Yuuto Amakawa from the enemy Ayakashi when he turns sixteen. The oath traces back to her ancestor, whose life was spared by the ancestor of the Amakawa Family. She is shown to be a kind and loyal person to her young master and almost anyone, but when someone hurts someone she cares about she will kill them in cold blood. She seem to be very seductive toward her young master and has intense feelings for him. Himari appears as a young anime cat girl in her older teens with extremely long black hair with several bangs hanging over her forehead and side bangs that frame her face (longer bangs in the anime).
She usually wears her hair in a long ponytail with a pink bow holding it in place. Her original form is a white cat, and in both forms she sports violet eyes.
2. Millianna from Fairy Tail
A Mage of the all-female guild, Mermaid Heel, Millianna is is one of Erza Scarlet's childhood friends from their days as slaves at the Tower of Heaven, having additionally worked as one of Jellal's minions for a time. She is a anime cat girl with light brown hair and a very feline, cat-like appearance: she has cat-like eyes, nose and mouth and a long brown cat tail to match.
Millianna also wears a pink dress with a white bow tie on it and light-pinkish ruffles on the lower portion, a choker with a bell on it, and white leggings.
1. Tsumiki Miniwa from Acchi Kocchi
With her floor length blue hair tied in a very low ponytail, Tsumiki is pretty iconic! She can alternate her cat ears and tail with a large, swirly ahoge on the top of her head. The main protagonist of Acchi Kocchi, she is a student at the Nekoge Prefectural High School, along with Io Otonashi, Mayoi Katase, Hime Haruno and Sakaki Inui. She is very short and usually wears the Nekoge Prefectural High School uniform and is shown wearing the version with a sweater during the winter (as opposed to wearing the winter version with a jacket).
