10. Juuzou Suzuya (Tokyo Ghoul)

A Rank 3 Ghoul Investigator in the anime and currently leader of the Suzuya Squad, he carries an androgynous appearance, with pale skin, pure shoulder-length white hair and a creepy look. Yes, that would be our boy Juuzou! Throughout the anime we see him come a long way from being a ghoul’s pet in a circus to being a full-fledged ghoul investigator. He self-stitches his own body, explaining it to be a form of body modification. A miniature set of red threads that appeared to be two x's are stitched on below his right eye. One below his bottom lip and a line of several stitching threads from his upper neck downward, and several more around his right arm and hand. Don’t judge a book by its cover, there is more to his youthful, innocent and child-like appearance and childish ways than meets the eye. He is incredibly ruthless towards ghouls and lacks certain emotion and empathy towards others, which makes him quite a scary and fierce character. If you were to be a ghoul, he would easily and mercilessly slice you in half!

9. Kaneki Ken (Tokyo Ghoul)

Why did Kaneki's hair turn white? While being tortured and starved by Yamori, while trying to heal all at once, the stress on his body, which became weaker and weaker, aged his cells considerably, making his hair turn white, like an old person. Poor Kaneki didn't have the best time to be fair! Imagine trying to approach a girl and then getting… umm, eaten by her. It is fortunate for him that she didn’t succeed and he turned into a half-ghoul and half-human. The first known artificial one-eyed ghoul, he eventually becomes known as Eyepatch. Due to events in the anime, he changes hair colour a few times but the white hair definitely makes him look more intimidating!

A major character of the Naruto franchise and the leader of Team 7 later known as Team Kakashi, Kakashi is considered to be one of the most talented Konoha’s ninjas, known to be extremely skilled and wise, despite his personal dislike of responsibility. He continuously emphasises the importance of teamwork and is a good teacher to his Team 7 students. He appears with spiky silver hair leaning to one side, dark grey eyes (black in several instances), and typically a relaxed and lazy expression. and is known to bear a strong resemblance to his father, constantly being mistaken for him. However, under his composed look is hidden a childhood trauma that followed him to his adult life. He is also one of the most well known anime characters who wear a mask!

7. Zero Kiryu (Vampire Knight)

A tall young man with short straight silver hair, snowy-white skin and lavender eyes, here we have our vampire hunter Zero who hates vampires more than anything. Many would say he is a very composed person, often acting cold and not showing any emotions at all. Although he comes across to other students as cold hearted and hostile, he is friendlier towards Yuki and occasionally shows his true emotions to her, becoming colder towards her when when Yuki is revealed to be a Pureblood vampire. He keeps barriers up to protect himself from others due to his childhood. Despite this, he is a very loyal character who has a kind heart and he will never betray the ones he holds dear.

6. Zen Wistalia (Snow White with the Red Hair)

The 2nd prince of the Kingdom of Clarines, he is in love with Shirayuki and like his delightful name suggests, he is presented as gentle, compassionate, and easy-going in the anime and you could say he has a personality fit for a prince. Even though he holds a high position, he is an incredibly humble and down to earth character, who does not look down on anyone and remains humble. The perfect fairytale husband, Zen's medium length hair is white in the anime, with his fringe long enough to pass his eyebrows. On top of that, Zen is an excellent swordsman and has a penchant for exiting out windows instead of doors and jumping down from high places.

5. Soushi Miketsukami (Inu x Boku SS)

Otherwise known as Mike by most of the characters, he is a 22 year old who works as a Secret Service Agent at Ayakashi Kan. A nine tailed spirit fox, Soushi is also a mixed blood (youkai and human) like the other members of SS, but it is the most powerful one. Soushi usually is calm, polite and gentle to everyone, but has a soft spot for Riricho (his partner), he blindly obeys her like a "dog" and always tries to protect her above his own life. He also serves Kagerou Shoukin in the anime. What is better than a cute fox? I would say that a nine-tailed spirit fox with the ability to speak and look handsome is a bit better, after all. He is known for being an extremely gentle character in the anime.

4. Tomoe (Kamisama Hajimemashita)

A fox yokai, presently serving as the familiar of Nanami Momozono, was once a familiar to the last land god, Mikage. Currently he is the familiar of Nanami and sealed their contract with a kiss. He shows a wonderful talent for cooking and is shown to be highly dedicated to the shrine. Tomoe worries a great deal about Nanami and is very aware of how delicate she is as a human, threatening anyone who harms her or speaks ill of her. It is often implied that he loves Nanami, such as doing random acts of kindness for her and refusing to kill in front of her. Plus, it is also indicated that he sometimes gets very jealous of other guys who hang around her. Tomoe may seem a bit hostile and mean at first, but in the anime we soon fall in love with his loyalty and dedication towards Nanami, showing he has a softer side.

3. Killua Zoldyck (Hunter x Hunter)

Exactly what comes to mind when you think really powerful characters with white hair in anime, Killua was raised as a child assassin and is capable of enduring extreme pain. His family trained him to efficiently murder people for the sake of the family business (since they are all assassins). One has to wonder what this training involved! He eventually ran away from his family and profession out of boredom and joined the Hunter exam to pass time. He befriended Gon almost immediately and has loyally followed his best friend since then. Killua is usually a kind-hearted and cheerful, cheeky boy, but if provoked, he becomes extremely deadly and bloodthirsty, able to kill an enemy in seconds. He is confident and aware of his abilities and strengths, and not afraid to speak his mind, but also smart enough to know when to hold his tongue. He can get embarrassed easily when someone compliments him or openly shows affection towards him. The contrast between his op abilities and youthful nature is such a cool concept and so interesting to observe in the anime!

2. Allen Walker (D.Gray-Man)

Allen is the main protagonist and hero of the series, a perfect definition of a charming, kind, and warm-hearted person. And he keeps being like that despite all the bad and cruel things happening around him. With that being said, he is also immensely powerful and has a unique ability that allows him to destroy demons with his left arm. He was abandoned by his biological parents because of the supposed "deformity" of his left arm (which was later revealed to be caused by his Innocence). He was eventually found and adopted by a traveling performer named Mana Walker on Christmas Day. Some time later Mana died, and Allen, tormented with grief and manipulated by the Millennium Earl, turned Mana into an Akuma, hoping that his beloved surrogate father would be fully resurrected.

But the Mana Akuma cursed Allen and sliced through his left eye, leaving the "Pentacle" — the mark of the Akuma — which scars the left side of his face. This enabled his left eye to see the souls trapped within the Akuma from then on. It was at this same moment that Allen's left arm first invoked as an Anti-Akuma weapon, which instinctively destroyed the Mana Akuma. During the course of this traumatic event, Allen's hair turned from brown into a stark white. Allen eventually meets Cross Marian, a General of the Black Order, who explained to Allen the ways of the Akuma and the trapped souls within them: Once a soul becomes trapped inside an Akuma, they are trapped forever; and that the only way to save one is to exorcise them from their Akuma vessel. Allen subsequently became Cross' disciple and spent the next three years with him before being sent to the Black Order to become an official exorcist. During this time, Allen was tormented by his master's constant irresponsible behavior and forced into various odd-jobs to pay off the debts that General Cross accumulated. This, coupled with Marian's womanizing ways and harsh treatment towards Allen, led to Walker fearing more than respecting his master whom he never speaks fondly of.

The top 1 is, of course, no one else than Accelerator (or so-called The Number One). He starts as an antagonist of the series and a perfect villain (and you can trust me, there is something about him that will make you love him at first sight). Later, he turns into an anti-hero in a perfect twist that showcases his character’s development. Accelerator is a highly intelligent individual and to this day nearly impossible to defeat even after the infamous accident that damaged his brain and nerfed his overpowered abilities.
