What is the best crab Pokemon? Here are the cutest sea dwelling critters, the coolest watery Pokemon you've never seen - never seen because they are probably hidden away in their perfectly camoflaged shells or tucked away in to a rock pool it managed to claim for itself! Here is a list for the best Crab Pokemon, design wise, stat wise and just in terms of general all round coolness. We hope you enjoy this crab Pokemon list, especially if you liked these best fish Pokemon or Best Water Type Pokemon moves. Here are the best crab Pokemon of all times ranked!

13. Parasect

Best Crab Pokemon Designs
A dual Bug and Grass type Pokémon from Generation 1, it is known as the Mushroom Pokémon and is an orange, insectoid Pokémon that has been completely overtaken by the parasitic mushroom on its back. The evolved form of Paras, it's not a crab built for combat, carrying the speed of a Snorlax, its defenses are not very good (especially considering all of the weaknesses that its typing gives it and the fact that it's almost never going to move first), and its most passable stat - Attack - is still nothing to write home about. It does bear an interesting design though and would definitely be one of the best camoflage Pokemon as no predator would be able to find it! It has a small head with pure white eyes and a segmented body that is mostly hidden by the mushroom. It has three pairs of legs with the foremost pair forming large pincers. The fungus growing on its back has a large red cap with yellow spots throughout.

12. Clauncher

Best Crab Pokemon Designs
A Water type Pokémon from Generation 6, known as the Water Gun Pokémon, Clauncher is a crustacean crab Pokemon that resembles a bright blue shrimp. It has three pairs of the light gray legs; two pairs have simple blue spikes, while the foremost pair forms a larger set of claws. Clauncher's claws can fall off during battle, but they'll regenerate and the meat inside the claws is popular as a delicacy in Galar. In battle its very average base stats prevent it from achieving any significant damage output, making it a far better raid Pokémon than it is a PvP option. It lacks the skills to make it a good offensive Water Type Pokemon in combat. Clauncher finds a very small niche in the metagame and, despite having the ability Mega Launcher, it doesn't really have many moves that can capitalize on it. It definitely carries a cool design however! One claw forms a single, sharp point and the other is much larger and forms a more traditional pincer with a tiny yellow claw. Each front claw has a black stripe across the top. It has a pair of yellow antennae on top of its head, yellow eyes, and three pointed mandibles. There are three black stripes along its back that separate its body into segments, and it has a light gray underside. Two black, rectangular fins form its tail.

11. Clawitzer

Best Crab Pokemon Designs
The evolved form of Clauncher at level 37, this Water type Pokémon from Generation 6 is known as the Howitzer Pokémon and is a crustacean crab Pokemon that resembles a bright blue shrimp. It gains a little more in Sp.Attack but generally the evolution is a little disappointing statwise, if you are looking for a good Water Type Pokemon in battle. It does possess some certain moves though. After using the feelers on its oversized claw to detect the location of prey, Clawitzer launches a cannonball of water at its target. These cannonballs have enough strength to not only puncture and submerge a large tanker ship, but also rip through a large metal sheet. Clawitzer uses water released from its rear nozzle to propel forward at 60 knots. Its body is divided into several segments by black ridges and there are three small spikes behind its head. It has semicircular, yellow eyes, a black stripe across its face, and three pointed mandibles. Its tail consists of three rectangular fins: two black ones and one bright blue one. It lacks legs, but has two clawed arms. The left claw is smaller and is dark blue with a black stripe along the back and a yellow tip.

Clawitzer is said to be loosely based on a pistol shrimp (which have asymmetrical claws, the larger of which can shoot waves of bubbles to stun or kill its prey) but funnily lacks legs (not including its arms), unlike real-world shrimp which have ten legs.

10. Kabuto

Best Crab Pokemon Designs
Kabuto is a small crab Pokemon resembling a horseshoe crab. No one can say this Pokemon isn't cute. Just look at its eyes! At least I think those are eyes. Even if it looks a bit like a nit or a headlouse, it is strangely endearing. A dual Rock and Water-type Fossil Pokémon introduced in Generation 1, this classic shellfish Pokemon can be resurrected from a Dome Fossil and is known to be Omanyte's counterpart. It design is comparable to a horseshoe crab: flat, brown, and a hard shell protecting its body, but it undergoes a pretty powerful evolution at level 40. Kabuto’s evolved form, Kabutops, is a bit of a beast. Even though it may have low base HP, it more than makes up for it with strong attributes like speed, attack and defense, plus is incredibly intimidating with its sharp scythes, skeleton-esque body and extremely predatory temperment and history. In its original time, Kabuto was prominently found on beaches, likely aided by its fast and powerful swimming ability.

9. Dwebble

Best Crab Pokemon Designs
Who knew crab Pokemon could have such big gooey eyes? A dual Bug/Rock type Pokémon introduced in Generation 5, it is known as the Rock Inn Pokémon. Dwebble is a small, orange hermit crab-like crab Pokemon with large pincers. It has dark, oval-shaped eyes supported by eye stalks. It has a hook-like tail that is concealed underneath the sectioned chunk of gray rock it uses as a shell. This tail is possibly used to keep the rock in place or to carve itself a new home should its old rock get lost. When finding a rock to use as its shell, Dwebble inspects the rock to see if it can be used, then it digs a hole in the rock’s bottom. Dwebble often look for solid rocks if they do not already own one as a shell. Once they find a suitable rock, they begin to spit corrosive liquid onto them or dig holes in them to make into their shell.

8. Crustle

Best Crab Pokemon Designs
A dual Bug and Rock type Pokémon from Generation 5, it is known as the Stone Home Pokémon and boasts an enormous shell, which resembles a cut-away block of sediment with multiple layers and strata visible, although also happily looks like cake to me. Although it is a slow Pokemon, Crustle is a Pokemon gifted with a unique typing and Shell Smash, one of the best boosting moves in the game. However, it never tends to see competitive success in higher tiers due to its middling typing and stats. This access to one of the best boosting moves in the game means that Crustle is a potent threat once it sets up and it can pack some solid coverage, not a wide movepool but with enough tools to threaten near anything for neutral damage between Stone Edge, Knock Off, X-Scissor, and Earthquake. This highly territorial Pokémon prefers dry climates and won't come out of its boulder on rainy days, a bit like me. Its thick claws are its greatest weapons and are mighty enough to crack Rhyperior's carapace. The tips of its pincers and six feet are dark gray and it has two glaring yellow eyes. Crustle possesses a straight tail that is concealed underneath its shell.

7. Krabby

Best Crab Pokemon Designs
The prevolved form of Kingler, Krabby is a crustacean Pokémon with a strong outer shell protecting its small body. A Water Type Pokemon from Generation 1, its upper half is red and has its eyes and two small spikes on the top of its head. Krabby seems pretty appealing due to its high Attack stat, usable Speed, and good ability in Sheer Force, allowing it to be a strong cleaner in combat, although it struggles to keep up with other Water Type Pokemon in battle as its movepool is quite limited. Its light tan arms are also connected to its upper body. Its lower body is light tan and doubles as its jaw with two fangs overlapping its upper body. Its hips are visible on the lower front of its body connected to its four long, thin legs. Krabby is an omnivore and a scavenger; it rarely hunts for itself. It can also act as a filter feeder by harmonizing bacteria in the sand, but this is rare.

6. Paras

Best Crab Pokemon Designs
Awww how cute is this crab Pokemon critter? Paras is an orange, insectoid creature that resembles the nymph stage of a cicada and it carries mushrooms on its back. It would be amazing at camoflage as it can appear just like a rock with foliage growing on it! Its ovoid body is segmented, and it has three pairs of legs. The foremost pair of legs is the largest and has sharp claws at the tips. There are five specks on its forehead and three teeth on either side of its mouth. It has circular eyes with large pseudopupils. A dual Bug and Grass Type Pokemon from Generation 1, Paras is unique in that it is one of the few Pokemon in Little Cup that have access to a 100% accurate sleep-inducing move, in the form of Spore. Couple that with good defenses and Attack, along with its excellent STAB and support moves, Paras is a bit of a dark horse in competition, maybe a dark crab...

5. Crabrawler

Best Crab Pokemon Designs
The preevolved form of Crabominable, Crabrawler is a Fighting type Pokémon introduced in Generation 7 . It is known as the Boxing Pokémon, which happily accords with the 'brawl' in its name. True to name, it performs nicely in combat with impressive coverage and its decent Attack and Speed stats make it a good wallbreaker or late-game cleaner, and its passable bulk allows it to take resisted hits well. Most of its shell is purple with blue and yellow accents. It has two long, yellow antennae over its eyes. One blue eyelid is usually half-closed, giving it the appearance of a black eye. The purple shell covering its body appears to be made of three parts: two plain plates covering the shoulders and part of the chest and one plate covered in blue stripes across its underside.

4. Corphish

Best Crab Pokemon Designs
Best Crab Pokemon Designs
That little startled looking lobster Pokemon from Generation 3 that is known as the Ruffian Pokemon, Corphish is a red-shelled, crustacean Water Type crab Pokemon with a short tail similar to a lobster. Its eyes are saucer-like with small pupils, and it has three spikes on top of its head. Despite its innocent looks, Corphish is actually an offensive threat to watch out for. With its good typing, high Attack, and access to a great boosting move in Dragon Dance, it is a great sweeper with its many unique qualities. It possesses four pairs of limbs in total: two large pincers used for gripping prey, and three pairs of legs used for walking. The upper segments of its legs, the underside of its body, and lower halves of its pincers are cream-coloured.

3. Crawdaunt

Best Crab Pokemon Designs
Crawdaunt is a primarily red, crustacean crab Pokemon with a tan underside, a dual Dark and Water Type Pokemon from Generation 3 that is known as the Rogue Pokemon, with a hostile temperment. This ultra-violent Pokémon from the Hoenn region's favourite thing to do is aggressively taking over whatever body of water it chooses as its living space. It can accomplish this very well thanks to an incredible Attack stat that can’t be lowered thanks to its Hyper Cutter ability. It also has a nice variety of moves to learn, meaning this Water/Dark crawfish beast is a force to be reckoned with. Just don't meet it down a dark, watery alleyway. It has circular eyes set in deep sockets and a large, star-shaped growth on its forehead. The upper and lower halves of its underside are separated by a pattern of angular red shapes, and there are two blue stripes on its throat. Its forelimbs have two large pincers with spiked edges and tan lower halves form. There are two sets of hind limbs. The foremost pair are simple claws with two spikes, while the rear pair are large and thick with two white claws. A yellow triangle marks the base of its lobster-like tail.

2. Kingler

Best Crab Pokemon Designs
A Water type Pokémon introduced in Generation 1, it is known as the Pincer Pokémon. Kingler is a crustacean Pokémon resembling a crab with a decent TDO - it has the third-highest TDO among all Water-type Pokemon. It is one of two Pokemon who can learn Crabhammer - alongside Crawdaunt - and this move is definitely worth a mention as gives both Pokemon a level of unexpected relevancy in Pokemon Go's metagame. A Crabhammer Kingler now dishes out the most damage per second (DPS for short) of any Water-type attacker in Pokemon Go! Its strong shell covers the outside of its body, featuring a red upper half and a light tan lower half. Its oversized 10,000hp worthy claw is very powerful, but when it's not in battle, the claw just gets in the way, although it does often use it to communicate with others by waving it about. Its upper half is topped with six tall, thin spikes that resemble a crown. Its light tan arms are also connected to its upper body. Its lower half doubles as its jaw with six fangs overlapping its upper body. Its two outer fangs are much larger than the inner four and are roughly half as tall as Kingler’s entire body. Its hips visibly protrude from its lower body and connect to its four long, thin legs.

1. Crabominable

Best Crab Pokemon Designs
A dual Fighting/Ice type Pokémon introduced in Generation 7, it is known as the Woolly Crab Pokémon Crabominable is a crustacean Pokémon that resembles a crab covered in white fur and despite its silly name and goofy appearance, packs an actual punch in combat. Crabominable boasts one of the highest Attack stats in the tier, which in tandem with its solid offensive typing, Iron Fist ability, and access to high-powered STAB moves in Close Combat and Ice Hammer gives it the ability to 2HKO a vast majority of the tier. The fur is fluffier around its mouth, shoulders, and claws; the fur is absent on its face, the tips of its legs and arms, and portions of its chest, abdomen, back, and arms. On top of its head is a patch of yellow fur with two tufts extending upward. Its face is light blue with beady black eyes and a large mouth where two blunt teeth are visible. Below its mouth is a dumbell-shaped, dark blue marking, and its abdomen is also dark blue with lighter blue stripes.
